A large asteroid could hit Earth

The asteroid named 418135 would measure between 350 and 780 meters, according to the researchers, and moves at 37,439 kilometers per hour, which is equivalent to 30 times the speed of sound, reported the Newsweek site.

The minimum distance between the asteroid and Earth will be 3,218,688 kilometers, they explained from NASA, which seems a prudent number until you take into account that in its next visits (expected for 2029 and 2045) it might happen to 72,420,480 kilometers from the earth’s atmosphere.

In the 2045 visit, asteroid 418135 will pass farther from Earth, and also faster, at a speed 55 times faster than the speed of sound, which is 1,234 kilometers per hour.

Although NASA assured that the asteroid is “potentially dangerous” during its 2022 visit, they also recognized that the chances of it getting off track are “minimal”or that someone has done the calculation wrong, and that we are regarding to become extinct like dinosaurs.
