The lifeless body of a man was found on Friday evening in Hoogstraten, in the province of Antwerp, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office confirmed on Saturday.

The victim, a 59-year-old Romanian, was lying next to his bicycle.

Although the circumstances of the death remain murky, there were no immediate indications of a collision or malicious intent at first glance. The prosecution is nevertheless treating the case as a suspicious death because the cause of death could not be established immediately.
