A 24-year-old man was stabbed on Sunday evening in Schaerbeek. Seriously injured, he was taken to hospital, said the Brussels prosecutor’s office, confirming information from Bruzz. Five suspects were arrested in connection with the attack. They were apprehended in France after a chase in which the federal police helicopter was mobilized.
A fight broke out around 6:45 p.m., place Colonel Bremer. The circumstances are not yet very precise, but according to the prosecution, the scene would have taken place on the sidelines of a wedding within the Syrian community. An individual born in 1997 was stabbed several times, including one in the throat.
After the incident, five people fled. They were intercepted a few hours later in France. “They were deprived of their liberty and interrogated“, said a spokesperson for the Brussels public prosecutor’s office. “In the meantime, a procedure has been launched with us to issue European arrest warrants.”
