You may have already noticed on the road that Thursday is the worst day of the week in terms of traffic jams. It is especially in the evening, between 5 and 6 p.m., that traffic jams are heaviest.
But which are the most congested routes? It is mainly the input and output axes that pose the most problems. This is for example the case of the Brussels Ring Road. The most congested lanes are those which allow you to leave Brussels at the end of the day.
Another type of road that is most congested is those affected by construction sites. Right now, two are particularly problematic. There is a construction site on the E42, in Rhisnes, towards Mons. Then, on the E411, between Daussoulx and Thorembais-Saint-Trond.
On the podium of the most congested cities, we find Brussels. It is the 7th most congested city in Europe. Here, the travel time has increased by 34% in 2022. Then, we find Liège with its tram works. The route lengthened there by 21%. The podium closes with Namur, with a journey time extended by 18%.
