Al-Marsad newspaper: Emirati legal advisor, Dr. Yousef Al-Sharif, revealed the story of a woman’s dispute with her ex-husband over her legal rights, after he abandoned her because of cancer, and married another.
Dr. Youssef Al-Sharif said in an article published in “Emirates Today”, an Emirati woman filed a divorce case against her husband, because he married another woman and mistreated her after she was diagnosed with cancer.
Al-Sharif added, in her complaint, the woman explained that she married at a young age and lived happily with her husband and had two children “10 and 8 years”, but this happiness turned into misery after learning two years ago that she had cancer.
And he continued, the woman’s husband turned and became abusive to her in his behavior, and made her feel inferior, and did not help her in the journey of treating her from the disease, so his wife offered him to marry another if that would make him happy, and leave her alone with her children, and not hurt her with his words, but his response was a surprise, as He told her, “I am waiting for your permission. I really married a beautiful and healthy girl.”
He continued, as soon as she heard his words, the woman went to the court and filed a case for a divorce from her husband for harm, and she actually got it, but he continued his threats to her that he would appeal the ruling once or twice, and if he lost, the execution would be halted through a problem with the ruling.
