It is noteworthy that the FIFA International Referees Committee selects 98 male and female referees from 45 countries to manage the 2024 Paris Olympics matches.

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the Referees Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced its selection of 98 male and female referees from 45 countries to assume the duties of officiating football matches at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The list included 21 arena referees, 42 assistant referees, 20 video technology referees, in addition to 6 support referees.

Among the Arab referees selected for the field are the Emirati Adel Ali Al Naqbi, the Mauritanian Dahan Beida, the Sudanese Mahmoud Ali Ismail, and the Moroccan Bushra Karboubi, while four assistant referees were chosen from the Emirates, Djibouti and Morocco, and three for video technology from Qatar, Egypt and Algeria.

Referees at the Olympics will benefit from technical support that includes the goal line, the “mouse” video assistant referee, and semi-automated offside technology.

For its part, the men’s football competitions in the Paris Olympics will begin on July 24 and end with the final match on August 9, while the women’s football competitions will begin on July 25 and end with the final match on August 10 at the Parc des Princes stadium.
