Residents of a street in Chatham, Kent in the UK may never know who the generous benefactor is who decided to post notes in their letterboxes.

An unknown donor has given a nice gift to residents of a street in Chatham, Kent, UK. As reported by Mirror, the man posted Christmas cards in the mailboxes at the front door of each resident. These cards contained a five dollar bill each. The goal: to contribute to the ever-increasing cost of energy bills.

Maxine Parker-Gallagher, a resident of the street concerned, explained to our British colleagues how she had discovered the gift: “Last night there was a card in the letterbox and I went to remove it and saw that “It was blank on the front and I thought that was weird. I opened it and inside it had this little message and it just blew my mind, it was so sweet.”

But who is this unknown benefactor? “My friend saw him, he had a small pile of cards and he was going around putting them all in the mailboxes,” says Maxine Parker-Gallagher. “She had never seen him before, because we live in a small community, everyone knows everyone.”

Another witnessing neighbor identified the man as someone in his late 20s or early 30s. Even if the identity of this anonymous donor is never made public, this Christmas gift will still be appreciated by the inhabitants of English small streets. In the country the bills explode with the arrival of winter.
