a new photo of the queen published for the occasion

The day before her birthday, the Royal Family’s social media shared a snapshot taken last month showing the Queen in the gardens of Windsor Castle.

Elizabeth II take a new step. The Queen of England, born on April 21, 1926 and ascended to the throne in February 1952, celebrates her 96th birthday on Thursday. On the eve of this great occasion, the royal family shared a new photo of the monarch on social media.

It shows Elizabeth II standing with two ponies, Bybeck Katie and Bybeck Nightingale, in the gardens of Windsor Castle. The photo was taken “last month”, specifies the official account of the royal family.

The photo was published by the Royal Windsor Horse Show, a show the Queen has attended every year since 1943. It was taken by Henry Dallal, who had been commissioned to produce an official portrait of the Queen on her 90th birthday anniversary, underlines the British newspaper Daily Mail.

“I think she’s had enough of birthdays”

This publication comes a few days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s surprise visit to the Queen. In an interview broadcast this Wednesday on the American channel NBC, the prince talks about his reunion with his grandmother and their special relationship. “She has a great sense of humor,” he explained, adding that this is his favorite quality in the sovereign.

“We have a very special relationship. We talk about things that she can’t talk to anyone else,” the prince assured.

“I think she’s had enough of birthdays,” he said. Prince Harry says above all to make sure that the queen “be protected and that she has the right people around her”.
