Xiaomi presented a Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition in China. An extended name essentially synonymous with a change of chip compared to the classic Redmi Note 12 Pro.
More. Pro. Max. Ultra. There is no shortage of superlatives in the smartphone world to show that this or that model has that little bit of soul that makes it more sophisticated, efficient and expensive. Xiaomi however, comes to surprise us with a Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition.
Admittedly, this is not the very first time that the Redmi brand in China has offered a Speed Edition of a smartphone. However, this was not expected for the series of Redmi Note 12 which had already been formalized with several variations. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition had only very recently leaked.
Changes for the chip and the photo
On the program, we therefore find the same smartphone as the Redmi Note 12 Pro, but with two major differences. On the one hand, instead of a Dimensity 1080 there is a Snapdragon 778G – and this is undoubtedly what is worth this name of “Speed Edition”. On the other hand, the main photo sensor is no longer a Sony IMX766, but a Samsung Isocell HM2. We therefore go from a definition of 50 to 108 megapixels and a size of 1/1.56 to 1/1.52 inch. The other cameras remain the same (ultra wide-angle and macro).
For the rest, continue to count on a 5000 mAh battery with a 67 W charge. The 6.67-inch Oled screen does not move with its Full HD + definition and its refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Even its bell for RAM (6, 8 or 12 GB) and internal storage (128 or 256 GB).
The dimensions of the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition barely vary from the classic Note 12 Pro: 162.91 x 76.03 x 7.9 mm. However, at 181 grams on the scale, it is 6 grams lighter. On the interface side, you have to rely on MIUI 14.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition price
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is displayed on the brand’s Chinese site at a price of 1699 yuan for the minimum configuration 6/128 GB, or just over 229 euros excluding tax. The most advanced 12/256 GB version is worth 1999 yuan (about 270 euros excluding tax).
At present, it is still unknown which models among the multiple versions of the Redmi Note 12 series will arrive in Europe.
