a new technique that is taking root in Martinique

It’s a small revolution in Martinique, breast reconstruction by microsurgery.

This new reconstructive surgery technique is being implemented in our CHU thanks to a collaboration with the CHU de Montréal.

This expertise complements the care offer for breast cancer patients.

At the Montreal University Hospital, it has been used for 10 years, between 300 and 350 people are operated on each year.

The objective of the Martinique University Hospital is to meet demand with at least one breast microsurgery per week, i.e. 40 to 50 operations per year.
