ON VIDEO | Violent altercations on Canada Day

An altercation reportedly broke out at the National War Memorial on Canada Day night in Ottawa.

This interaction would have “become confrontational” and “an officer was strangled”, reported the Ottawa Police on its Twitter account.

“Other agents immediately intervened, 4 people were arrested,” she added.

Several videos posted on social networks show sometimes violent altercations between demonstrators and the police.
