A particular meteorological phenomenon “and not without consequence” arrives in Europe: “Potential mayhem”

In Belgium, Monday will be relatively sunny. But you will have to take advantage of it. Indeed, Tuesday and Wednesday, heavy rainfall, and sometimes thunderstorms, are expected.

According to Alexis Vandevoorde, weather engineer and presenter at The Weather Channel, these forecasts are linked to the rather special behavior of the air which is reaching us: “The air which will fly over Europe at the start of next week will have circulated 7 days more early in the Tropics, near Bermuda! And it’s not without consequences…”, he explains on Twitter, with a map in support.

The specialist explains that the tropics are an area where evaporation from the oceans is high and that they provide the planet with the stock of humidity. As a result, “with the arrival of former hurricanes Danielle and Earl in our latitudes, the flow of humidity from the tropics is expected to be considerable and even deviates from the climatology”, he specifies.

We must therefore, according to him, expect strongly precipitating events in Europe: “Potential mayhem to watch after the remarkable heat”.

On the MRI side, “abundant cloudiness with rain and sustained and possibly stormy showers” is expected on Wednesday. “We will probably have to deal with significant amounts of precipitation.”

To see if this is confirmed. In the meantime, the sun should be there this Sunday at the end of the day and this Monday.
