A prosperous year for Zug, which has already repaid covid loans

It is with some pride that Zug has published its financial results. After the title acquired in the 7th match against Zurich, the group is in the black numbers.

The group reached a turnover of more than 33 million francs for the 2021/22 financial year, a record for the club and an increase of more than one million compared to the last normal financial year before the covid. The annual result of the EVZ group translates into a consolidated profit of 602,345 francs.

This result is all the more pleasing as certain restrictions due to covid were still present. The successes of the first team helped a lot, but the club clarifies that it is also thanks to a respect of the budget within the company that the club is in such a good position today.

The Confederation’s covid loans totaling CHF 4.735 million, obtained in the 2020/21 financial year to guarantee liquidity, have already been fully repaid.

CEO Patrick Lengwiler nevertheless warns that the club will have to be careful in the coming years: ‘Until the planned expansion of our ice rink, we will experience a more complicated period, because we will no longer be able to increase revenue, while we will be faced with increasing costs on several fronts. It will be a big challenge for our organization.’
