He explained that the cancer cell deceives the T-immune cell, as the cancer cell produces a link to the same protein on the immune cell, so it recognizes it and does not kill it, and here comes the role of the new treatment, as it cuts the bridge between the cancer cell and the immune T cell.

He pointed out that the researchers are preparing for the third phase of the study, which includes expanding the sample and conducting research to find out the efficiency of the treatment in causing the response obtained in the second phase. Pointing out that this will take about 5 years, after which the approval to use the drug can be obtained.

He continued, “This drug is very promising, and the path that tumor studies are currently taking is the right one, as the level of immunity and genetic defects are looked at, unlike what was happening in the past. The treatment was done using classic drugs and protocols according to the organ, such as the protocol for lung and liver cancer.” This is undoubtedly promising.
It is worth noting that experts announced earlier, during a recent study, that the drug “Dostarlimab”, which is used in the treatment of endometrial cancer in women, had helped to cure 18 patients with colorectal cancer, who participated in this clinical trial.
