Al-Marsad Newspaper: Dr. Ali Al-Zahrani revealed how dangerous the electronic cigarette is to health, especially the respiratory system, noting that many young people entered emergency and intensive care because of it.
He explained, during an intervention via Skype, on the “Saudi Street” program, broadcast on the “Saudi Arabia” channel, that electronic cigarettes may cause pneumonia.
Al-Zahrani referred to an outbreak of a disease called “Ivari” in 2019 in the United States, among young people, especially those in their thirties and younger, saying they were hospitalized due to severe respiratory infections.
He attributed the reason to the fact that the caliber is missing in the liquids that are placed inside the electronic cigarette, and also that the substances may be used in quantities higher than the permitted quantities, and thus severe infections occur in the lungs.
