Al-Rashed said in the article he published in Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, on Wednesday: “The son-in-law, the president’s daughter-in-law, surprised us with what he mentioned in his biography, how he worked to fix what Trump’s election statements had spoiled. The irony here is that the young Jew, Jared Kushner, was the one who convinced the president-elect By rapprochement with Saudi Arabia, the leader of the group of Islamic countries, and correcting his political rhetoric, Riyadh took a step forward with Kushner, proposing that instead of antagonizing one billion Muslims and fifty Islamic countries in the world, why not communicate with them, for the benefit of both sides? The American Islamic Summit, the first of its kind, and the Saudi capital became Trump’s first stop outside America as president. The summit was one of Trump’s most prominent political actions on the foreign front.”

Kushner had considered what Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his father, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, had done in combating extremism “dramatically changed the world.” In an interview with “Sky News”, he touched on his relationship with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, When he was an advisor to the former US president, as well as to the case of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018.

In response to a question about his comfort in the presence of Mohammed bin Salman, Kushner said: “Very comfortable.” And whether he thought about the killing of Khashoggi and the role of the crown prince, Kushner said that “there was a lot of thought clearly and I wrote about it in my memoirs,” noting that he also wrote about his discussions with Prince Mohammed bin Salman on this subject in his memoirs.

“But our job is to represent America’s interests in the region, and if you look at the biggest issue in 2016, ISIS had a caliphate the size of Ohio and was slaughtering journalists and killing Christians,” he added.
