A case of drowning shakes the Matam region.
On Tuesday morning, Hamidou Niang went to cut grass for his small flock of sheep. But to get to the meadow, you have to cross a backwater, sometimes on foot or by swimming.

The 27-year-old student at Cheikh Anta Diop University unfortunately chose to cross through the deepest part of the backwater called Laladji.
His drowning was noted in the middle of the day on Tuesday, the firefighters of the Matam brigade, alerted, went to the scene to search all day and until late at night. This Wednesday again, the body is still in the waters.
