A “study” explains how humans discovered the chicken…and identifies its original habitat and the reason for its descent from the trees to the ground

Al-Marsad newspaper: A study conducted by the universities of Exeter, Oxford and Cardiff revealed that raising chickens is not very ancient in history as we thought, noting that humans did not deal with chickens until the year 1500 BC.

According to “Sky News”, quoting the newspaper “The Guardian”, the researchers conducted a radiocarbon test to determine the age of 23 among the oldest chicken remains found in western Eurasia and northwest Africa.

The study indicated that the original home of the chicken is back to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia.

The study indicated that humans discovered chickens when they were practicing dry rice cultivation. Pointing out that the chickens used to live in the trees, but fell to the ground because of the rice.
