In a new “traffic massacre”, 8 people, 7 of one family, were killed and 5 wounded, in the town of Arsal, northeast of the capital, Beirut, after a truck loaded with more than 40 tons of stones swept into a number of cars on Saturday.

An entire family of 7, residing in the town of Arsal from the Al-Fulaiti family, was killed, in addition to a young man from the Al-Ghadada family, when their Nissan pickup car collided with a truck transporting rocks in the locality of Aqabat Al-Jurd – Wadi Atta in Arsal town. According to Al-Nahar newspaper.

In the details, during the family’s ascent towards the barren area of ​​the town, their car collided with a truck on the way back to the town, driven by Deeb Ghaddah, accompanied by his son, loaded with large rocks from the town’s quarries. And she kept dragging her down town for a long distance.

Then the two collided with a number of cars, which resulted in the burning of the truck and the crash of Youssef’s car, causing severe damage to the walls of a number of houses. The accident led to the death of the family on the spot, while they were taken out with difficulty by the parents and members of the Red Cross.

The truck driver sustained serious burns and was taken to a Beirut hospital for treatment, while his son succumbed to his injuries inside the hospital.
