A university professor was suddenly killed

The professor was a long-time employee of Mykolas Romeris University, who devoted a lot of time and energy to the activities of the University, and made MRU famous in the world.

During his academic journey, for more than 25 years, the dean of VVVF has researched the field of information technology law, issues of personal data protection and cyber security, cyber crimes and legal regulation of biometric technologies. Prof. Dr. D. Štitilis was one of the main scientists who created the Lithuanian cyber security strategy model. The professor created the “Cybersecurity Management” study program and successfully managed it.

in 2021 together with colleagues from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology founded and managed the Australia-Lithuanian Cyber ​​Security Research Network (ALCRN). The dean was always tense, demanding, responsible, he liked to communicate with students.

Prof. Dr. Darius Štitilis has published more than 50 scientific articles, a significant number of which are included in Web of Science and/or Scopus and other databases. The professor regularly participated in scientific conferences in Lithuania and abroad, where he presented scientific reports and the results of project activities. In order to promote the name of the University, he actively participated in the training of doctoral students, prepared national and international projects of scientific programs.

Mykolas Romeris University community will always remember prof. Dr. Darius Štitilis not only as an employee who created and made the name of MRU famous, but also as an exceptionally hardworking, bright, benevolent and very sincere person who always put people first.

Farewell to aa prof. Dr. Darius Štitiliu will be held this Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. In Vilnius, J. Matulaičius a. 3, in hall 3 (under Pal. Jurgis Matulaitis church). Relatives ask to honor His memory with a symbolic flower ring.

Prof. Dr. D. Štitilis will be buried in Žiežmariai. At the request of the relatives, the funeral will be private.
