One of Universitario’s reinforcements for the tournament is Jessica Tejada. The 52-year-old volleyball player had retired with the Alianza Lima shirt, her love team, but she decided to return to sports activity to play for the creams.
“I had already retired, I retired with Alianza Lima, but for me this is a challenge: to play for promotion, for the ‘U’, a great team, one of the best in Peru.”Tejada told DirecTV Sports.
The volleyball player said that it was the Universitario coach who called her to join the project. For this reason, she decided to return from retirement to play in the cream box.
“If the coach gives the go-ahead to play, I go with everything“, expressed Tejada, who is excited about this new sporting challenge in her career.

Universitario seeks promotion to the National League
Universitario is in the National Intermediate League. The creams must be among the first two places in their group to access the final home run.
If they win that stage they will return to the Superior League, if they are in second place they will play a play-off against the penultimate team in the National Championship.
