“For kyiv and Moscow to negotiate, they will have to be at an impasse”
Professor Keith Krause, of the IHEID, believes that the conditions for a negotiation are far from being met and that the West cannot afford to let Russia win.
The war in Ukraine, which is entering its second year, has shattered European illusions of a peaceful international order, according to specialist Keith Krause. Professor of international relations and political science, this Canadian-Swiss directs in Geneva the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (Center on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding) at IHEID. According to him, a defeat for kyiv would marginalize the UN and call into question the entire international architecture put in place following the world wars.
