According to the INDEC report, how many people are poor in Río Negro and Neuquén?

The analysts’ forecasts were finally confirmed: poverty touched 40%. The data was officially released by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) this afternoon, finishing giving a hard beating of reality to the authorities of the National Government.

Nearly 18 million people do not cover their basic needs in Argentinawhich corresponds to 39.2% of the total inhabitants from the countryaccording to the agency’s semi-annual report.

The worst social situation is observed in the North of the country, where more than 40% of the population lacks basic livelihoods. More precisely, in the Northeast, 43.6% of people are poor, while 10.3% are indigent. Meanwhile, in the Northwest, 43.1% are poor and 7.4% indigent.

In the region of BOTH 38.5% of the population has incomes below the minimum ranges for a dignified subsistence, with a marked difference between the suburbs and the City of Buenos Aires.

Meanwhile, in the Cuyo region, poverty stood at 39.6% and homelessness at 5.3%. In the Pampean region, the percentage of poor reached 36,3% and that of indigents at 7.4%.

For its part, Patagonia registered the lowest rates in the country, although the numbers are still sensitive. On average, poverty reached 34.7% of the population and indigence 5.3%.

In the discriminated by cities, the reality turned out to be more worrying. In the Neuquén-Plottier conglomerate, the figure reached 38.4 percent, representing a total of 121,534 people. For their part, 13,670 Neuquén (4.3%) live today in conditions of indigence.

In Viedma, the numbers are considerably lower considering its population size, which is around 85,000 inhabitants. Of that total, some 30,742 people (36.2%) are unable to access basic resources. The number of households in percentage terms is the same as in the neighboring province: and 27.3%.

Indigence, for its part, is at 2.8 percent, affecting 2.421 personas

Regarding the report for the first semester of 2022, the Comarca Viedma-Patagones suffered a decrease of 3.2 in their poverty levels. On the other hand, in Neuquén the effect was reversed, with a 1.2% per raise.
