In Washington, United States, a man suspected of several crimes, including murder, escaped from the courtroom in which his judicial process would be carried out during the trial. What appeared to be a movie chase on February 27 was recorded on video.

The end did not end as the suspect expected, since no more than two hours passed before he was apprehended. Before that, a search protocol was activated, even on social networks.

Nothing could be further from what happened after a few seconds when he quickened his steps and began to run, while an officer located at one side of the room followed behind. Those present at the site revealed a stunned expression at the sudden way in which the subject seemed to have fulfilled his mission.

The ‘exhaustive’ search

On his Twitter account, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office shared a photograph of the accused along with a call to action if anyone saw him. “Edi Villalobos is being actively sought. Villalobos was at the Washington County Courthouse for a trial involving numerous charges, including second-degree murder, when he ran off. If you see him call 911, stay away from him,” she warned.

Previously, and once he left the room, other cameras had recorded his escape through the corridors and the moment when he ran into a woman at the main door of the building. His “freedom” did not exceed two hours because, according to ABC 7the authorities found him (not far from the initial place) tucked in a closet and covered with a blanket.

The scene went viral on TikTok, a network in which a user shared the unusual moment. According to the international chain CNNthis person was imprisoned for a criminal offense and had a bail of 50,000 dollars (more than 235 million Colombian pesos).

Before he was recaptured, the subject would have entered two houses for which he will assume two additional charges.

He disguised himself as a sheep to escape.

In Bolivia another individual also failed to ‘get away with it’ in the search to escape from the San Pedro de Chonchocoro Prison, in La Paz. To do this, José Luis Callisaya Díaz, alias “El Araña” tried to camouflage himself in sheep’s clothing, but his disguise did not help him to go ‘unnoticed’.

Once the authorities realized his absence, they launched the search protocols and finally found him in “properties of the internal perimeter.”

The director of the Penitentiary Regime, Juan Carlos Limpias, expanded on Facebook that “the prisoner, Callisaya, who is serving preventive detention for the crime of homicide, is currently in cells of the Penitentiary Center, for which he was instructed, the actions begin legal and disciplinary action against this person”.
