Accused of sexual harassment, Professor Pierre-François Laterre dismissed from his post at Saint-Luc Hospital

La Capitale reveals this Saturday morning that the head of department and high-profile doctor at the Saint-Luc Pierre-François Laterre hospital has been dismissed from his post with immediate effect, subject to a complaint and an internal investigation for cases of sexual harassment. Two nurses would therefore be concerned for the moment, the complaint filed last year would have been dismissed, adds La Capitale.

The Saint-Luc University Clinics have confirmed the information, but will not comment further on this subject.

For his part, the doctor says he is surprised, and presumes that this attack is more linked to his positions in the media, which are very critical of the government and its management of the health crisis. “My wife (Editor’s note: Dr. Mélanie Dechamps, assistant head of clinic, cardiovascular intensive care at Saint-Luc clinics) is also blocked in her career progression for her TV positions”, he justifies with La Capital city. As for the sexual harassment, the accused defends himself “at the beginning, it was a question of that and of abusive remarks. Saturday morning, I was accused of rape by the RTBF and it took a day and a half for the clinics not to make a denial”.

The professor announces that he is filing a complaint for unfair dismissal against the hospital.
