Actor and heartthrob Elyas M’Barek enjoys anonymity after moving to the United States. “In New York I’m just Elyas, and that’s nice,” said the 41-year-old to the news portal “Watson” on Thursday. “Most of the people there don’t know me, I can take the subway as normal and live a largely anonymous life.”

Since the move, the “Fack ju Göhte” star has also received more inquiries or offers in English. “If I can now put out feelers in America a bit, then that’s a bonus and it’s exciting and new,” said M’Barek. “But it wasn’t a reason for my move.
