Actress Constance Wu announces that she attempted suicide three years ago

American actress Constance Wu, the star of “Crazy Rich Agents”, announced Thursday that she tried to suicide Three years ago because of offensive comments I made on Social Media.

On Thursday, Wu tweeted, “I felt then that I did not deserve to live and that I was a disgrace to Asian Americans, and that they would be better off without me.”

“Fortunately, a friend found me and took me to the hospital,” the actress wrote, without elaborating.

After surviving a suicide attempt, Wu suspended her artistic activity and through social media to focus on her mental health.

But she decided to re-use social media to tell her story with the aim of sparking a broader discussion about mental health in Asian Americans.

Wu noted that they “do not address mental health enough,” adding, “We do not hesitate to celebrate any achievements that have been made, but we avoid talking about sensitive issues within our society.”

Wu wrote her controversial tweet in 2019, following the announcement of the sixth season of the series “Fresh of the Boat”, whose story centers on an American family of Taiwanese origin trying to build a new life in Florida.

“I’m so upset that I’m shedding tears,” she tweeted at the time.

A large number of social media users considered that Wu was denying the success of the series.

In her post Thursday, Wu indicated that the tweets were “indifferent”, and she had made it clear at the time that she was upset about the announcement of a new season for the series because it would lead to her work being suspended on other projects.

Yesterday, Thursday, she wrote: “Although I feel fear, it is my duty to what I was three years ago to be brave and share my story with others in order to help them.”
