The landmark ruling by a court in Istanbul comes in a retrial of allegations of sexual assault against members of his own cult group. Okhtar was most often seen in the circle of young women known as the kitties. When it came to explaining political and religious matters, the presence of these scantily clad young women caused quite a stir.
He was sentenced to so many years in prison in a trial held along with 236 people who were Okhtar’s followers.
