Frito is a dog who lives at the Metro East Humane Society shelter in Madison County, Illinois, in the United States, who has to play alone in the place after she was the only dog that was not adopted at an event held by the administration of the hostel on the occasion of Black Friday.
The shelter management explained that every year they carry out a dynamic around this time to find a home for the animals that reside in their facilities and this year they managed to break their record by accommodating 94 dogs and cats with a family, however, Frito was the only one that did not find an owner.
Ali Hillard, director of the program, commented in an interview with The Dodo magazine that they were very happy after finding a family for several animals, but in the end they were disappointed because the dog was the only one that stayed at the shelter.

Hillard shared that the brown-furred canine with a white chest is charming and was surprised to see that no one was interested in her, so they decided to promote her adoption on social networks in order to help more pets.
“She (Frito) is a very lovely and deserving girl, so it was a shame that she was overlooked and that no one reached out for her. We all know how special she is, so seeing so many people pass by her was disturbing,” commented the director of the shelter’s adoption program.
The people who take care of Frito decided to publish a video on their TikTok account where the dog is seen playing alone in the shelter courtyard and assured that she was accompanied by her “imaginary friends.” Even though she is the only canine that is sheltered in the place, her mood has not been affected and she continues with that characteristic smile of hers.
“She definitely didn’t let being alone get her down. The next day she was jumping on the playground, living her best life with her stuffed toys,” Hillard explained of the attitude Frito took.

The rescuers hope that in the coming days a person will contact them to start the adoption procedures and they trust that it will be their ideal family. The dog has no behavioral problems, she gets along well with other animals of her species and likes to play with people.
“His ideal forever home will be one looking for a dog that is a mix of sweet and cuddly, while also being super silly and playful. “He likes other dogs and gets along well with older children,” Hillard said.
