Last year, July was all about live music, DJ sets and visual arts. After the youth culture festival 5020 suddenly only had around 60% of the total budget available, the program was reduced from five to three weekend blocks.
A whole month dedicated to youth culture – that’s not possible for the 5020 Festival this year. After the city of Salzburg had reduced the subsidy from 100,000 euros to 60,000 euros with the votes of the ÖVP and FPÖ (the SN reported), the state and federal government also canceled their subsidies.
