Hundreds of posts and comments were harvested by news on social media, stating that the Saudi club Al-Nasr had terminated the contract of the Uzbek player, Jalaluddin Masharipov, after refusing to concede the number 7 to Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the claim is incorrect, Masharipov is still in the club’s ranks and has published a picture of him with Ronaldo, after his official presentation on Tuesday.
The publications included a picture of the Uzbek player, accompanied by the comment, “The Saudi victory terminates the contract of the player Jalaluddin Masharipov, after the player refused to concede No. 7 to Ronaldo.”
And the circulation of this news began, harvesting hundreds of posts on Facebook and Twitter on December 31, 2022, that is, a day after the Saudi club Al-Nasr announced its contract with Ronaldo, the best player in the world five times, until 2025, in a deal estimated at more than 200 million euros.
However, the claim is incorrect.
Masharipov published, through his account, on Wednesday, that is, after the Saudi club Al-Nasr presented its new international star, Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, in a festive atmosphere and fireworks, a picture of them.
And Masharipov, who previously wore the number 7 in victory, attached the picture in which he appears smiling and embracing Ronaldo, during sports exercises that took place on Tuesday on the sidelines of the latter’s presentation, with the comment “7/77” in reference to his new number in the club, and Ronaldo’s number.
The club also published, on its official Facebook page, a set of photos of Ronaldo greeting the Al-Nasr players in the dressing room, including Masharipov, who was wearing the number 77.
