The debate on the motion of censure cited by the opposition in the plenary session of the Chamber against Foreign Minister Álvaro Leyva was interrupted this Wednesday by demonstrations outside the compound, by relatives of members of the public force who were not allowed to enter the place.
Congressman Uscátegui, who appeared in some images by forcefully knocking on the door of the compound and shouting “justice, justice,” said in Vicky in Week that it was a peaceful protest, remembering that there was no material damage to the Congress.
“Not a single glass was broken, we didn’t have to hurt anyone because we weren’t there for that, they were people fully identified with Congressional cockades. That the zafarrancho, the show or the riot, which Congressman David Racero is now saying this was, occurred as a result of his refusal to allow some people to enter the stands, a public space,” Uscátegui indicated.
In addition, he told Uscátegui that what happened this Wednesday in Congress had supposedly never happened, for which he described it as unfortunate.
“It is unfortunate that at this time, Jaime Uscátegui has to resort to these things (…); you don’t go to an event for victims, to a tribute, and carry a megaphone. They already had this thought out, it was already square to take the elliptical room, to do a show media so that the media would notice it,” said representative Ocampo.

And is that a crime?” Uscátegui recriminated Ocampo.
Later, Ocampo answered Uscátegui again, insisting that his way of acting was not correct. The congressman of the Historical Pact stated that beyond the differences that exist, there was “nothing else that represented democracy than the Congress of a country.”
In a new intervention in Vicky in WeekUscategui he asked Ocampo to “put himself in the shoes” of the families of the victims.
“The friends of David Racero, from the Historical Pact, and Alejandro Ocampo enter there, but the families of the public force are not allowed. And yesterday was not just any day, yesterday we had ten soldiers kidnapped in Toribío, Cauca, and now the problem is that if they are kidnapped, the government and the government’s friends say it is a humanitarian siege. And if the children of that soldier stand up with a sign and a megaphone, we are carrying out an act of terrorism, riot and violence,” Uscátegui asserted.
