Agreement between Volotea and Atitech for aircraft maintenance

Atitech and Volotea have signed a contract for the assignment of maintenance services for the Volotea fleet. The agreement, worth 25 million, is destined to grow over time. it was signed by the president and CEO of Atitech Gianni Lettieri and the founder and CEO of Volotea Carlos Muñoz.

Volotea with eight bases in Italy

The agreement involves two leading companies in European civil aviation: Atitech, the largest independent MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) in the EMEA market, and Volotea, the low-cost airline that connects small and medium-sized cities and which has recorded among the highest growth rates in Europe, with a consolidated presence on the Italian market from where it operates in 23 airports. The carrier has one of its eight Italian bases precisely in Naples, confirming the centrality of the Neapolitan airport in its growth strategies. In Campania, Volotea was also one of the first airlines to announce the start of its activities at the Salerno airport, thus strengthening its presence in the area.

Five-year partnership

The contract was negotiated with the support of the internal legal office coordinated by the lawyer Annalaura Lettieri. The partnership lasts 5 years and concerns Volotea’s Airbus A320 fleet. For the maintenance activity, which will be carried out in “nose-to-tail” mode – in a continuous chain – a minimum of two bays of the Atitech hangars in Naples Capodichino will be dedicated during the winter season (from 29 October to 26 March).

Basic maintenance ensured

Under the terms of the agreement, Atitech will provide Volotea, on a non-exclusive basis, with basic maintenance services (modifications, structural repairs, interventions in AOG “Aircraft On Ground”), guaranteeing high standards of safety, efficiency and reliability.

«The solid partnership with companies such as Airbus, GE and now Atitech is one of the winning elements of our continuous and solid growth – states Carlos Muñoz -. We have ambitious objectives and aim to consolidate, flight after flight, our activity on the Italian market, which has always had absolutely strategic importance for Volotea. But not only that: the agreement with Atitech represents a further important step for our presence in Naples, an area in which we will continue to invest and which also confirms itself as a focal point for our business for this 2024».
