Agreement on an average 8.6 percent wage increase for metalworkers – income

Vienna – Eight rounds of negotiations and 24-hour strikes in more than a hundred companies in the metal industry were worth it from the union’s point of view: the wages and salaries of 137,000 employees in the machinery and metal goods industry will be increased by ten percent retroactively from November 1st. That’s significantly more than was ever discussed in previous metal rounds.
