“It’s wonderful that you’re a guest here,” said la pura marketing manager Elisabeth Rühl, “now it’s not far to the premiere on July 15.” Mayor Martin Falk is also looking forward to it with excitement: “The Boccaccio Hall has a special meaning for us Garser, as it is named after Franz von Suppé’s operetta. I warmly welcome the artists of ‘Aida’ to Gars and especially here and we hope that they feel at home with us. In any case, we do everything for it, although the fees are not that great.”

The main part was then of course taken by Johannes Wildner, who welcomed part of the Aida ensemble to the guests, including Oper Burg Gars Managing Director and the parliamentary group leaders Josef Wiesinger and Helmut Gröschel, such as “Aida” Li Keng from Taiwan, “Radamés” Oscar Marin from Spain , “Amneris” Nana Dzidziguri from Georgia, “Amonasro” Neven Zrinic from Bosnia and director Philipp Harnoncourt from Vienna.

“I’m proud of the cooperation with la pura, proud of the association with chairman Julius Kiennast,” he emphasized and fascinated with his explanations of Verdi’s great opera, for which more than twelve tons (!) of sand were carted onto the stage. “It’s actually a very intimate opera, but because of the triumphal march, many people think it’s pompous. We in Gars stick to truthful production.”

Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Aida” will be performed ten times until August 5th, with the premiere on Saturday, July 15th at 8 p.m. and the preview on Thursday, July 13th.
