YS Net, Yu Suzuki’s studio, has announced its new game… But it’s not that Shenmue IV that many fans are waiting for. Is about Air Twisterand shoot em up 3D fancy for subscription service Apple Arcade to be available June 24. We show you his first trailer and images.
“Fly through the sky fighting invaders in this all-new fantasy endless shooter from legendary game creator Yu Suzuki,” reads its description. “Players will take on the role of Princess Arch fighting against strange enemies to save his planet from destruction”. The game will show us showers of arrows that search for enemies in beautiful settings and all with a simple control designed for touch screen, although it is also compatible with controls.
Offers 12 stages with 20 types of creatures and 10 unique bosses, power-ups and new unlockable levels. An online scoreboard allows us to compare our performance with the rest of the world.
A modernized Space Harrier?
The first reactions have not been long in coming, and it is that it reminds the type of Yu Suzuki arcades in the 80s and 90s, and specifically to a kind of Space Harrier with swanscontrolling Zero Suit Samus in a world with saturated graphics very characteristic of Dreamcast or early 2000 games.
The Dutch composer Valensia (Aldous Byron Valensia Clarkson), has participated with 19 original songs for the soundtrack. Suzuki has assured that he has long been a fan of the creator of songs like Gaia, so we can expect music with influences from Freddie Mercury, John Lennon or Kate Bush.
