“A plane ticket that goes up as long as it can still be included in the upper limit ticket (TBA) category is fine. Now it’s the government’s job to monitor plane ticket rates so that they continue to be monitored (so they don’t go up),” he said when contacted on Sunday (24/3 ).
But currently, he continued, the government has provided a solution by providing free homecoming for motorbikes using ships.
“Not only ships from Tanjung Priok Port (Jakarta) to Tanjung Emas Port (Semarang) and Tanjung Perak Port (Surabaya). This year, if I’m not mistaken, there are 20 routes, this is what’s interesting, next year it can also be added and only not Eid, “Christmas must also be given,” he explained.
Free homecoming by boat, he continued, can also be provided for several cities in Kalimantan to the islands of Java and Sulawesi. Because in Kalimantan there are quite a lot of migrants who come from Java and Sulawesi, while in Sulawesi there are many migrants who come from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). According to him, the principle of justice must also be provided for travelers from outside Java.
“I see that from Makassar, many people from NTT and NTB can go home by ship, the ships are big, this is good for middle and lower class people to be able to use ships,” he concluded.
Free homecoming, he said, is not only for Jabodetabek residents returning to their hometowns to meet their families. However, some regions also do this for residents in their area. Apart from that, there are also regional governments which provide a number of fleets to pick up their citizens who have migrated to Jabodetabek, as is done by the Provincial Government.
“Central Java routinely provides a number of buses every Eid homecoming season. Meanwhile, the Regional Government of DKI Jakarta also provides a number of free buses to take regional residents in Jakarta back to their hometowns,” he said. (Fal/Z-7)
