Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the final round competitions for the Al Dhafra Grand Kingfishing Championship for men and women will begin on Thursday, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and will continue for 3 days on the beach of the city of Al Mughira in the Al Dhafra Region.
The tournament represents a social entertainment competition, in which citizens, residents and visitors to the country participate, to catch the largest kingfish in terms of weight, according to specific conditions and requirements.
The competition contributes to enhancing the status of marine fishing in the country, and encourages participants to engage in an exciting experience, carrying the spirit of competition between professionals and amateurs interested in fishing, and highlighting the importance of marine competitions that express the UAE’s maritime heritage, and contribute to preserving marine safety and sustainability from overfishing and regulation.
