Al-Marsad newspaper: The family doctor, Dr. Saud Al-Shehri, revealed the benefits of pistachios for diabetics, and the amount allowed to be consumed daily.

Al-Shehri said, in a video posted on his Twitter account: “48 diabetics who ate 25 grams of pistachios twice a day for 3 months, their fasting sugar decreased by 28.65 milligrams, meaning if his sugar was 128, it would become 100.”

He pointed out: “The cumulative blood sugar also decreased by 0.68, meaning if the cumulative blood sugar was 6.8, it went down to 5.9,” explaining: “The systolic blood pressure went down, the body mass index (obesity) went down, and the inflammation index went down.”

And he said: “The lutein substance in their bodies increased, and this substance preserves the retina of the eye, and the systolic pressure decreased,” pointing out: “Pistachios are rich in fiber and healthy fats.”

He continued, “25 grams of pistachios give you 11% of your daily need of fiber, and protect the heart and vascular system from diabetes problems, in addition to that it gives you 8% of your daily need of potassium, 12% of your daily need of protein and 2% of your daily need of calcium. and 2% of your daily requirement of vitamin C.

He concluded: “25 grams of pistachios give you 25% of the vitamin B6, which coats the nerve endings, so you don’t feel numb.”
