A judge specializing in disputes related to protection issues placed the French star Alain Delon (88 years old), who suffers from a serious illness, under “enhanced guardianship,” in a new judicial development that the actor’s daughter’s lawyer described as “insulting.”
Dillon, who suffers from lymphoma, has been placed under judicial protection since last January, with the appointment of a judicial representative to assist him in his “medical follow-up.”
A source close to the case reported that “this procedure has been converted into enhanced guardianship” following a closed session held Thursday followingnoon in the Montargis Judicial Court.
The source added that “enhanced guardianship” means “tangibly that Dillon no longer has complete freedom to manage his property and the decisions he can make, and this decision allows for the management of some of the medical aspects that concern him.”
Commenting on this new development in the case, the lawyer of Anushka Delon, the daughter of the French star, considered the decision to place Alain Delon under enhanced guardianship “exaggerated” and “insulting” to the actor.
Speaking to French radio RTL, Frank Burton said: “Alain Delon’s lawyer agrees with his opinion that this measure is exaggerated.”
Enhanced guardianship constitutes a procedure that allows the guardian to manage the bank account of the person concerned and pay his expenses, according to the “Service Public Dot FR” website.
Since the beginning of this year, the star’s three sons have been waging a fierce war among themselves, on the pages of the press or in the judiciary, and each of them affirms his desire to protect the great French actor, whose health has deteriorated since he suffered a stroke in 2019.
