Ukraine assumes far more victims
Ukraine recently said more than 14,700 children had been deported from the country to Russia. Some have been victims of sexual abuse. Russia claims to take care of orphans and want to provide medical care for children. “Russia took in children who were forced to flee the shelling with their families,” the Russian embassy in the United States said on the news platform Telegram. “We are doing our best to keep minors in families and to place the orphans under guardianship in cases of absence or death of parents and relatives,” it said.
