Libreville – August 05, 2022-The President of the Republic, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba met today with Mr. Jean Marie Ruimirije, Ambassador, bearing a written message from HE Evariste Ndayishimiye President of the Republic of Burundi.
Bearing a message of fraternal greetings from the President of Burundi to his Gabonese counterpart, Mr. Jean Marie Ruimirije also discussed with the President of the Republic the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the agricultural sector.
The diversification of the economy and the development of trade between Libreville and Bujumbura were also at the center of discussions between the two personalities who expressed the wish to intensify regular consultations between the two States.
In addition, Ali Bongo Ondimba received in audience HE Mr. Alexis Lamek, Ambassador, High Representative of the French Republic to the Gabonese Republic.
It was a question for the French diplomat to take stock of his first year of exercise in Gabon as a prelude to the next Conference of Ambassadors to be held in Paris in the coming days.
This meeting was also an opportunity for the President of the Republic and his host to discuss the political dialogue between Libreville and Paris, the convergence of views between the two countries on climate and environmental issues, as well as bilateral and common interest in the sectors of education, health and gender equality.
