Libreville, August 08, 2022 – The President of the Republic, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba, exchanged today with his counterpart, His Excellency Carlos Vila Nova, President of the Democratic Republic of Sao-Tomé and Principe, at the Renovation Palace.
The new President of the Democratic Republic of Sao-Tomé and Principe, who was making his first visit to Gabon, discussed with the Gabonese Head of State the strengthening of the relations of friendship uniting our two nations, which share many cultural ties. and historical.
The need for bilateral cooperation in the economic, financial, agricultural and maritime and air transport fields was also discussed during the meeting between the two Heads of State.
This exchange marked by fraternity and warmth was also marked by the signing of an Agreement on regular diplomatic consultations between Gabon and Sao-Tome and Principe. In this regard, the two Heads of State agreed on the reactivation of a Joint Commission between the two countries, before the end of 2022.
Satisfied with the excellent bilateral relations between Gabon and Sao-Tome and Principe, Presidents Ali Bongo Ondimba and Carlos Vila Nova are committed to strengthening their convergence of views on the major regional, continental and international issues of the day, such as peace and security and the fight against climate change.
