Alkimia Interactive adds photo mode and Marvin mode to Gothic Remake

Alkimia Interactive Deploys Update 1.0.5 for Gothic Remake

Alkimia Interactive released update 1.0.5 for Gothic Remake, bringing a photo mode, the developer console known as Marvin Mode, and character customization options across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, GRYOnline.pl reported. The update arrives following an August preview of upcoming additions, giving players new tools to explore the Kolonie.

Photo Mode and Marvin Mode Features

The primary visual addition is a dedicated photo mode accessed via the pause menu or the “L” key, featuring multiple configuration options for capturing the Mining Valley, naEKRANIE.pl noted. Alongside the camera tools, the update restores Marvin Mode from the original 2001 release. Players open this console by pressing Escape, typing “MARVIN”, and hitting Escape again to enable teleportation, object spawning, and lockpicking without lockpicks. Entering “42” deactivates the mode.

Character Customization and Bug Fixes

Players can now modify the Nameless Hero’s appearance with new hairstyles and tattoos, CD-Action reported.

Alkimia Interactive also bundled a broad series of bug fixes into the patch. The developer resolved an issue allowing players to equip two identical rings simultaneously, corrected broken journal entries for locations and enemies, and fixed goblin equipment glitches. The patch addresses a bug where players could purchase Saturas’ Water Mage Robe twice, alongside quest progression blockers involving focusing stones and Ur-Shak, and fixes Raven’s combat pathfinding in chapter six, PPE.pl confirmed.

Modding Support and Community Tools

The studio introduced a beta-stage modding toolkit alongside the update, releasing the game’s script language and full source scripts to the community. Developers published official documentation through Steam Workshop to encourage user-generated content, though Alkimia noted that additional editor tools remain under evaluation for future patches.
