All COVID-19 guidelines officially lifted

Preventive measures will now be a thing of the past: the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) announced Wednesday that all directives for COVID-19 will be lifted.

“Due to the current epidemiological context and the return to normal that has begun in recent months, the [MSSS] announces that the measures and directives related to COVID-19 which were still in force will be lifted as of July 19, 2023”, can we read in a press release published on Wednesday morning.

Wearing a mask and isolation in healthcare settings are some of these measures that will no longer be mandatory.

The duration of isolation for users in close contact in healthcare settings is now reduced to 5 days.

The MSSS also assured that this decision was made with the recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ).
