Three greats from Europe, Germany, Belgium and Croatia are on the verge of elimination this Thursday in the third day of the phase of Groups E and F in the Qatar World Cup 2022a day in which Spain will seek to seal the pass.

THE CLASSIFICATION
Germany (1 point) knows what it has to do on Thursday against Costa Rica (3 pts): win with more than a goal difference to overcome Japan in the event that the Japanese manage to snatch a draw against Spain. La Roja would qualify, since they would have five points.

A victory for Spain would eliminate Japan, regardless of the result of Germany-Costa Rica. And it would favor the ‘Mannschaft’, as long as they beat their Central American rival, goalkeeper Keylor Navas, totally relaunched by his victory on Sunday over Japan (1-0).
A victory for Japan would be the worst scenario for the Germans, since it would put the Japanese to six points with Spain to four points and a very favorable goal difference for the Spanish thanks to the win against Costa Rica (7-0). But, they would be eliminated if Costa Rica beat Germany.
THE FIRST PLACE
Three out of four teams have options to finish in first place. First, Spain and then Japan, but also Costa Rica if they beat Germany and the Spanish and Japanese tie. Everything is possible.

The situation in this bracket is even more open than in Group E because Canada is already eliminated, after two defeats, and it shouldn’t be difficult for Morocco, full of talent, still unbeaten and spurred on by their victory against Belgium.
In this most likely case, second place will be played between Luka Modric’s Croatia and Belgium, which is losing steam.
An important detail: the Croats have a one point advantage over the Belgians, so a draw could help them ensure their qualification. But, they will have to win to have a chance to finish top of the group in case the Moroccans beat the Canadians.
THE FIRST PLACE
It is the other challenge of this group, to determine who will finish in first place and, therefore, meet the second in Group E, which could be Germany. Between Morocco and Croatia, it will probably be settled on goal difference or goals scored, if both teams win, since they tied in the first game. And if Belgium wakes up, they may even finish in the lead, only if Morocco loses to Canada. The bets are open.
