Yuki Tsunoda of Alpha Tauri F1 talked about the effect of the upgrade introduced to AT03 at the previous F1 French GP.
Unlike the other teams, Scuderia AlphaTauri, which had no new parts, was widening the gap to its rivals. However, the long-awaited upgrade was introduced at the previous F1 French GP. Yuki Tsunoda advanced to Q3 for the first time in four races in qualifying.
“At Paul Ricard, we drove the old spec in FP1 and switched to the new floor in FP2,” explained Yuki Tsunoda.
“I felt a definite difference in overall grip, especially in the fast corners, which was certainly a positive, but we struggled a little bit to bring it all together in terms of the balance of the car.”
“I had a hard time finding the ideal balance for the car, but I’m glad I could feel a clear difference. So I’m looking forward to that.”
“We’ve got a lot of data from Paul Ricard, so I’m confident we can put it all together this week.”
