The conversion specialist Alpincamper from the Bavarian town of Lenggries has taken on the Opel Vivaro. The van is offered in two versions as a camper van. The Alpincamper Vivaro 2, fully equipped with a living room, offers space for two people; Four people can travel in the Alpincamper Vivaro 4. Both models have the 145 hp (106 kW) 2.0-liter diesel engine and Opel’s rough-road package with two and a half centimeters more ground clearance and the Intelligrip traction system for sand, mud and snow. With a height of less than two meters, they remain suitable for underground parking.
There is space for a family of four in the Alpincamper Vivaro 4. For everyday journeys into the city, the leisure van has two additional seats in the rear, including Isofix preparations, for the small passengers in addition to the driver and swiveling front passenger seat. At the holiday destination, the sleeping bench can be converted into a 1.20 x 1.95 meter double bed in seconds. In addition, there is the pop-up roof, under which you can either stand comfortably or set up a lying surface, also measuring 1.20 x 1.95 meters. In addition, there is a kitchen block with a sink, fresh and waste water tanks and a cool box on board. The one-flame, removable stove can be powered by a gas cartridge.
The living room is insulated and lined with felt. The equipment includes curtains for the side and rear windows as well as the driver’s cab blackout and LED lamps. There is also an auxiliary heater, 220-volt external and internal connection and a charger for the second battery.
The Alpincamper Vivaro 2 also has a lifting roof, but no bed in it. It is only used to create headroom in the camper. The comfort couch in the rear can also be easily pulled out into a double bed; a 10 centimeter thick cold foam mattress ensures lying comfort. The kitchen block has a two-burner stove with electric ignition and an integrated sink. I can also use an integrated folding table for small meals in between or as additional storage space.
