As the snow began to fall in the Quebec region, schools have already announced their closure for Friday.
Due to the weather forecast, the Center de services scolaire des Navigateurs, between Leclercville and Lévis, has announced the closure of elementary and secondary schools, vocational training centers and adult education centres. Daycare services will be open.
A winter storm warning in effect for the areas of Bellechasse, Côte-de-Beaupré – L’Île d’Orléans, Lévis, Lotbinière, Portneuf, Québec, Saint-Lambert and Valcartier – Stoneham.
A total of 15 to 30 centimeters of snow is expected by Friday evening.
A depression coming from Colorado is heading towards Quebec. The snow will intensify Thursday night and continue through late Friday.
Rapid snow accumulation could make travel difficult in some areas.
