Alsfeld District Court Sentences Vogelsbergkreis Man to Four Years

Four-Year Prison Sentence Delivered at Alsfeld District Court

“Das Mädchen gibt sich die Schuld. Aber Sie sind schuld, Sie haben sie manipuliert,” declared presiding judge Dr. Bernd Süß during the sentencing at the Alsfeld District Court. A 29-year-old man from the Vogelsbergkreis region was sentenced to four years in prison, marking the maximum possible penalty the district court is authorized to deliver under adult criminal law.

The case, heard in courtroom 1 of the Alsfeld courthouse, involved multiple sexual offenses committed over several months against underage girls aged twelve to fifteen. The defendant used Snapchat and WhatsApp to establish contact, subsequently demanding intimate photographs and videos. Investigators found child and youth pornographic image and video files on two seized mobile phones after police searched the defendant’s residential quarters in July 2022. The 29-year-old admitted to a large portion of the charges in court, attributing his actions at the time to not being fully mature and having sexual preferences for young girls that he claimed had since changed.

Disputed Allegations of Sexual Assault on a Farm Restroom

The central and most severe allegation involved a sexual assault against a girl who was twelve years old at the time of the incident in the summer of 2021. Now seventeen, the victim testified that the defendant took her to the restroom on a farm and performed sexual acts against her will despite her repeated refusals. Prosecutor Maximilian Sinn highlighted the victim’s consistent and comprehensible testimony, describing it as having impressive statement consistency, and noted that the defendant treated the victims merely as objects to satisfy his urges. While the defendant denied the rape allegation, claiming he merely touched the then-twelve-year-old on the breast and stopped when she showed displeasure, the court fully accepted the victim’s account as credible.

Defense Arguments and Final Legal Classification

Prosecutor Sinn had argued for a total prison sentence of four years, emphasizing the high degree of criminal energy and planning required in such offenses. The judgment is not yet legally binding.
